Day 14
Coolness. This obscure quality that is so desired.
It can be many things – confidence, charisma, independence, a little arrogance maybe – but for me, coolness suggests first and foremost a sense of effortless.
Its more an attitude than a trait.
Keeping your cool means always staying composed and somewhat detached, do not show emotions, stay on an internal state of piece.
I was never good at keeping cool.
First, I care. Secondly, when I care, it shows.
So, for me, being cool meant double duty – trying not to care or at least try not to show when I do.
I’ve met enough jerks in my life to know that seeming detached and calm has its perks but there is something to be said about the power of passion, enthusiasm and vulnerability (being “warm” is another way to put it) to move and touch people.
In this era of everything goes I want to suggest that warm is the new cool
Be friendly. Be open. Be vulnerable. Be cool
SO what did I decide?
I think I’m gong to go with Brené Brow and try to practice vulnerability in a jeans jacket.
